Closed Captioning (Optional)

The FCC has spoken ... under provisions in the Telecommunications Act of 1996, virtually all television programming has to be transmitted with closed captions effective January 1, 2006..

EZPrompt has an optional module that permits you to send the text from your script to a standard Closed Caption Encoder.

The computer with EZPrompt is connected to the Closed Caption Encoder via a standard Serial cable.

As the text scrolls through the prompter, it is simultaneously fed to the encoder. The video signal from your program or presentation is fed into the encoder, which encodes the caption data into Line 21 and sends it out to the server recording your program, transmitter, etc.

To use this feature, you must:

• Purchase the optional Closed Captioning module (List price: $1,000.00).
• Have a compliant Closed Caption Encoder.
• Have a computer with an available serial port to communicate with the encoder and a serial cable that meets the manufacturer's specifications supplied with your encoder
