Language Support
EZPrompt is in use with many languages using multi-byte character sets. The text editor does not properly display all character sets, however the prompter engine itself has been tested with many languages and fonts using scripts prepared using standard word processors and saved as standard RTF documents.
That being said, we always advise people to download the demo version of the software and test it for themselves so they can be confident they are making the correct purchasing decision.
To download, go to http://www.ezprompt.com/download/, select the current release version of EZPrompt, and follow the instructions.
When the software is installed, the user should:
- Launch EZPrompt
- From the top menu, select Prompter | Options | Font.
- Select the font you wish to prompt in and set the style and size (48 point or larger).
- Click OK
- From the top menu, select Prompter | Options | General.
- Set the International properties that may be applicable to the language you will be using.
- Set any other properties you wish (dual screens, pointer, stop-watch, etc.) and click OK.
- Close EZPrompt
- Launch EZPrompt Direct (icons appear on the Desktop and on your Programs menu), select a document that has been saved in RTF format (see note below).
- Click RUN
Note: EZPrompt Direct is designed to use RTF files. Documents saved in other formats (e.g. .DOCX, .DOC, .TXT, etc.) may not function as expected.
RTF stands for "Rich Text Format", a file format standardized by Microsoft (circa 1987) for creating formatted text files. RTF files include information such as font style, size, color, and all document formatting instructions without the use of any special hidden codes or binary characters.
Due to the absence of binary encoding and special characters, RTF files have become a defacto universal format, meaning they can be read by nearly all word processors without loss of formatting, regardless of language or styles.
